Paper Things + Inspiration

Today I had my routine eye check up and went to the local Indigo for some much needed inspiration.

Started with a white and dark chocolate chiller from Second Cup.

Soap in pretty Paris-inspired news print paper.

When I go to San Francisco, Miette is a must see!

I love this! What a great project to do....

A little inspiration from Cath Kidston. I plan on doing a giant canvas painting with a blue background and red roses. Maybe I'll jazz it up with some glitter and Japanese paper.

I rode the new rocket trains. It's very similar to the subway trains in Europe. More spacious with lot's of standing room. Toronto has very clean subways compared to a lot of major cities. This is one thing that I always appreciate about the city.

Herb Garden

My first herb and flower garden...

Soon, I will be enjoying the beautiful bounty of blossoms, basil, chives, cilantro and oregano.

I hope that everyone is having a great summer!

Barbie and Ken

I may be a little out of the romantic loop but I heard through the grapevine that Barbie and Ken have split up.

Here's the fashionable duo last seen by me at Toronto Fashion Week 2011.

Don't they look fabulous together? Oh well c'est la vie....

Last week T played hooky from work. We started the day with a massage from the Nouvelle Maria Spa at the luxurious Le Meridien King Edward Hotel. The spa was different from the modern spas that we usually go to. This spa had a more traditional feel and setting to it. When you get there you are immediately feel relaxed as the staff hands you a comfy white robe and delicious lemon and honey tea. Total bliss!

Overall, both of our massage therapists were fantastic, the service was great and the lounge had a very homey feel to it. We're sold and going back again.

After our afternoon of relaxation T and I decided to indulge in some yummy lunch treats at The St. Lawrence Market. We decided to stay keep it light and shared a salmon panini with coleslaw and a spider roll.

With the hectic lives that people lead, it's really important to take a day here an there to pamper and spoil yourself. A spa treat is a very economical way to indulge especially when you can't get away to your desired travel destination. It's less expensive and you're guaranteed to feel very relaxed at the end of your treatment!

Winter blues

Flowers from Pilar's garden....

They say that January and February are the most depressing months of the year because of the gloomy weather. I am not that into outdoor winter sports and I miss the sun. To combat the blah weather I add a burst of colour here and there. Flowers in the living room, a bright piece of clothing or accessory, etc.

Keep smiling :-) Spring will soon be here.
